Brief description

Mariazell railway - The most beautiful connection of technology and nature.

Description

102 years after the electrification of the Mariazell railway, the future of the traditional narrow-gauge railway began in 2013 with new vehicles – the Himmelstreppe.

Since September 2013, the new vehicles have been in operation on the Mariazell railway route. Nine low-floor railcars and four panoramic carriages make up the fleet. The modern interior, full air conditioning, and passenger information system make the journey enjoyable. The spacious compartments offer plenty of space for bicycles, strollers, and people with reduced mobility.
