Ötschergräben
Description
Rugged rocks, thundering waterfalls, unique nature - this is how one of Austria's most exciting landscapes presents itself to its visitors. Formed by the forces of the Ötscherbach stream, a unique system of gorges lies at the foot of the Ötscher - the Ötschergräben.
"Austria's Grand Canyon" is the popular name for the deep gorge formed by the Ötscherbach stream over thousands of years. The well-surfaced path leads to the "Ötscherhias" snack station and three waterfalls up to 90 meters high: the Lassingfall, the Mirafall and the Schleierfall. The start and finish of the hike is the Lassingfallstubn in Wienerbruck or the Erlaufstausee-Schenke in Mitterbach.
