Description

There shall be wine…

Between the Danube and the Lower Austrian capital St. Pölten is the lower Trainsental (valley). This gentle, partly hilly landscape invites to enjoyable walks, idyllic picnics in vineyards or to romantic carriage rides. Hiking trails lead through the vineyards to martyr statues and shrines or magnificent panorama points. Here is the best environment for the Veltliner (grape) to thrive in, although even some Riesling grapes from here have been called "Golden". The landscape is mostly flat and exceptionally attractive, especially in the cellar streets and vineyards or in the Augebiet of the Traisen River. In many places vineyards invite to stay... The Traisentaler claim that the vineyard density here is the largest in all of Austria. And Traisental-connoisseurs know to report that the atmosphere and prices here at the vineyards are so friendly, as nowhere else in the country.
