Description
From the Ötscher-Basis Nature Park Center, the trail leads through the Lassing Gorge and down the Lassing Falls over rock steps, bridges and tunnels. The imposing Wienerbruck power station is located in the middle of nature and attracts visitors with a small exhibition on its history. On the way back, you climb up to the Kaiserthron. Here you are rewarded with a spectacular view of the Ötschergräben and the Ötscher summit. The descent is then leisurely over a meadow and paved paths.

Route description Wienerbruck - Lassingfall - Stierwaschboden power plant - Kaiserthron - Wienerbruck
From the Ötscher Base follow the road along the Wienerbruck reservoir. Before the dam, take the path left into the Lassingschlucht, heading towards "Ötschergräben". Always follow the path until the Wienerbruck power plant (45 minutes). Take the same way back to the bridge over the Lassingbach (20 minutes). After the bridge, turn left uphill towards (Kaiserthron). Behind the Kaiserthron follow the path into the forest and keep right, through the pasture gate towards "Kollerbauer - Wienerbruck" over a pasture and the farm. Cross the street back to the Ötscher Base. Total return time 1h 15 minutes.

From Vienna: A1 motorway; exit St. Pölten through Pielach valley (approx. 1.5 h from Vienna)
From Styria (from Graz): S35 towards Leoben to the Bruck/Mur junction, B116 to Kapfenberg, B20 towards Mariazell
Parking
Paid parking spaces are available at the Ötscher Base - 5€ / day. The income from parking management benefits the maintenance of the nature park. (coin payment only at ticket machine)
