Details for: Gösing station - Hintere Tormäuer - Lassingfall - Wienerbruck
Brief description
The scenic "Gösingrunde" leads through an enchanted forest, along the bubbling Erlauf, and as a highlight to the impressive Lassingfall!
Description
Whether coming from St. Pölten or Mariazell, the tour begins with a ride on the historic Himmelstreppe to Gösing. The path starts directly below the Alpenhotel Gösing (temporarily closed) and leads downhill through an enchanted forest to Erlaufboden. After a short section along the road, the impressive Hintere Tormäuer begin - a gorge shaped by the turquoise-blue Erlauf. Always along the river, you reach the Wienerbruck power plant after a little more than an hour. A detour to the show power plant is definitely worth it! Always within sight or hearing of the Lassingfall, about 170 meters of altitude must be overcome on former lumberjack paths and through rock caves until you reach the Wienebruck reservoir, where you can refresh yourself at the lakeside inn.
